CATEGORY: Dessert

METHOD: Baked

TIME: Prep: 20 min. Bake: 20 min.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • FUDGE FILLING
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Combine oats, flour, baking soda and salt; add to the creamed mixture. Spread two-thirds in the bottom of an ungreased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan; set aside. For filling, heat milk, chocolate chips, butter and salt in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl until melted. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla and walnuts. Spread over oat mixture in pan.
