I substitute 2 king size Butterfinger candy bars (frozen & crushed). This has become a 'hubby favorite'. Be sure to use the half & half (not milk), for it will not set up. To fancy it up a bit, I also dribbled caramel ice cream topping over the top just before serving.

I make this pie often. Everybody loves it, even those who don't like "pie." They always try to figure out what it's made of, and usually "icecream" is top on the guessing list. My niece has requested this pie for her birthdays from now on, no cake, just this pie! My only suggestion to make it better would be to make two pies instead of just one because they get eaten quickly, that way the cook will be sure to get a piece ;)

Love this recipe on a hot summer day. Does great for summer picnics. I could never find the choco toffee bits so I always mix the plain toffee bits with mini choco chips. It is great, also does great with lite or fat free ingredients.

very very easy...and easy to substitute as well. I have also had good results using andes candies (crushed). I also tried it with york peppermint patties and I didn't like how it turned out but my husband did...i've made this many times and will continue to do so!
