“This recipe has been in our family for many years,” writes Juanita Michael of Florence, Alabama. “The thing we like most about it is that it doesn't freeze very hard, and if you have any leftover, which we hardly ever do, you can place it in the freezer and it will stay slightly soft.”

This was so easy & yummy! I made it in my Donvier ice cream maker, so it made 2 batches.

Loved this recipe, but it made so much more than I was expecting. My ice cream maker only makes 1 quart at a time & I only have 1 container, so it took a couple of days to make it all.....experimented with flavors.....to 1 quart I added Nutella.....another coconut extract & almonds....another chopped pecans & chocolate chips.....it was all good. Thanks!

Absolutely delicious! We love this recipe. Will definitely be making this over and over again.

It tastes like a wonderful chocolate milk shake, or like those frozen fudge bars I ate as a kid. Stays slightly soft right out of the freezer. Love it!

This was a great low fat ice cream. I agree it tasted very much like Wendy's Frosty. Leftovers froze well. I will definitely add this recipe to my book of favorites.

My husband made this with whole chocolate milk and did not go low fat on any of the other ingredients. It was very good. Tomorrow he is making it for 23 guests and we are adding chocolate syrup to it this time. Very easy and my husband thinks it's great with his modifications. He does not want any low fat in his ice cream but I thought the recipe looked interesting. Thanks!

This was a wonderful treat. This is a keeper recipe.

This was quick and easy, and unlike many other reduced fat recipes, it had a nice consistency to it. I have a two quart ice cream freezer, and I halved the recipe, and still had to freeze it in two batches.

Grandkids and I made this, this morning. They loved it. We added mini chocolate chips. Reminds you of a Wendys Frosty.

I'd make it, but without the sweetened condenced milk. Too much Sugar! I'd add Chocolate Syrup though to make it Extra Chocolately & the other ingredients & proceed with directions.

Can this recipe be done without an ice cream freezer? Is there something else that will work?

Absolutely delicious! If you like the Frosty from Wendy's, you will love this. I have had this recipe for years and enjoy it every time I make it. Peggy Dawson, Ga.

We were camping and I took the ingredients along to make in our ice cream ball. It came out great and everyone loved it! I will be making this again with the grandkids when we take them camping.

Our family loves this recipe with 2 chopped Butterfingers added.

I have made this recipe for years. I have never added the vanilla, but might try next time. I add an extra large hersey bar to the mixture. It helps to freeze the chocolate bar first, then put it in the blender to puree. You want it to be very fine.

I would love to make this but I do not have an ice cream freezer...Do I need one or can I just put it in a plastinc container?

Reviewed on Jul. 12, 2012 by Jaw71744

Cgabbage The 30 grams of carbohydrate would include what you are calling sugar. So, the calories from carbs would be about 120. Less than most sodas!!!

Reviewed on Jul. 12, 2012 by garvi97

Do you just mix it and freeze it, or do you need an ice cream maker?

Reviewed on Jul. 12, 2012 by Cgabbbago

I haven't tried this recipe yet, but does anyone know the breakdown of the sugar content? I love that they list the nutritional value, but sugar is never included. I really want to try this recipe. Thank you!

If you like a frosty from Wendy's, you'll love this....and the longer it ripens, the better it gets. My recipe didn't call for vanilla, but it couldn't hurt - It's so easy, and so yummy!
