Many people especially childrendon't care for fruitcake, so I came up with this sweet biscuit recipe. A few years ago these strips earned high honors in a recipe contest sponsored by a local newspaper. Tena Huckleby, Greenville, Tennessee
Editor's Note: As a substitute for each cup of self-rising flour, place 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a measuring cup. Add all-purpose flour to measure 1 cup.

This recipe came at the perfect time. I love fruitcake, but my family doesn't. I'm anxious to try this one out on them.
