My grandchildren love these sandwiches. I like this recipe because it can be made ahead of time and can also be put in the slow cooker. I've found it freezes well, too.Patricia Ringle, Edgar, Wisconsin

I made this for a large gathering and it was a hit! Very tasty and easy to make. This will be my go-to recipe from now on.

Loved this recipe! My family does not care for green peppers, so this recipe was perfect! Even my daughter, who rarely eats red meat, loved it!

This will replace our other Sloppy Joe recipe. It really has a great taste. I added a dash of nutmeg and a green pepper, along with a tad bit more chili powder.

I've been making sloppy joes for years using the recipe I received from my mother-in-law. I've been reluctant to use it since it calls for a can of tomato soup, and I've been trying to avoid corn syrup. I used ketchup that does not contain corn syrup, so I wondered if that would matter. It didn't matter. This recipe turned out excellent, and it will be the recipe I use from now on. Don't hesitate to try it. It's great.

Easy and very tasty. I too added a few green peppers - I made enough to freeze, which is a nice time saver.

Really good! Not too sweet, made ahead and kept warm for a few hours in crock pot. Added diced celery and green pepper.

Excellent sloppy joe recipe. Family keeper. We served this on homemade hamburger buns and they were a real treat.

Wonderful and very easy. I had lots of ketchup left over from a party, so I thought I'd give this recipe a try. I'm very glad I did, it's a keeper. My old recipe called for green peppers, which I don't always have on hand. Thanks for submitting it!

Added two small green peppers (chopped) fresh from the garden. Delicious!

I didn't think this would turn out but in the end it was yummy and I loved it!

I used red peppers instead of onion and didn't have any allspice so I left it out. I thought the flavor was good but added a little paprika, chipotle chili powder, and just a little cayenne.

I have made this recipe several times. I use to make Manwich, and my grown kids prefer this recipe and ask for it often.

I made this last night and it was great. I had to substitute regular yellow mustard instead of ground mustard because I was out. We had sweet potato fries with it. Even my 3 year old loved it!

Super yummy! Incredible - whole family loved it. Easy also. Much better than canned sauce mix. A little sweet and not too tomato-y.

I made this last night and my whole family loved it. It was excellent. The only change I made was leaving out the allspice because I do not care for that flavor. It was very good and I am having leftovers today! YUM!

This is so much better than pre-packaged sloppy joe mix. I like knowing exactly what's in my sloppy joes. My kids love this, too!
