 Elegant Pork Marsala

Ingredients

  • 5 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2/3 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/3 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 boneless pork loin chops (4 ounces each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 2 turkey bacon strips, diced
  • 1/4 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 cup marsala wine or additional reduced-sodium chicken broth

Directions

  • In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and broth until smooth; set
  • aside.
  • Place flour and pepper in a large resealable plastic bag. Add pork, a
  • few pieces at a time, and shake to coat. In a large nonstick skillet
  • coated with cooking spray, cook chops in oil for 4-5 minutes on each
  • side or until a meat thermometer reads 160°. Remove and keep
  • warm.
  • In the same skillet, saute the mushrooms, onion and bacon in
  • drippings for 3 minutes or until bacon is crisp-tender. Add garlic;
  • cook 1 minute longer. Add wine, stirring to loosen browned bits from
