I created these sandwiches when I realized I did not have a can of sloppy joe sauce. The sweet brown sugar in this recipe complements the tangy salsa. —Mrs. Krista E Collins, Concord, North Carolina

Quick Homemade CroutonsI hate to waste the heel from a loaf of bread or a few leftover hot dog or hamburger buns. So I cube them into a bowl, spray them with nonstick cooking spray and season with garlic powder, parsley and basil or oregano. Then I bake them on a cookie sheet at 250° until they’re crisp and brown. My family loves the quick homemade croutons. —Nancy C., Windermere, Florida

My husband and I loved it. I made it with hot salsa so it had a bite to it.

I make this all the time for my husband, especially on football days. This is delicious and it's super simple to make. I add spicy salsa and extra brown sugar in the sloppy joes for a hot and tangy sloppy joe.

Loved these Sloppy Joes. I always toast the buns under the broiler because I hate soggy bread. I served them with the Ranch Pasta Salad on the same page.

Made this last night for dinner. I too added more brown sugar! Served with cream style corn. Had no buns so had open faced. My 14 yr old nephew said it was the bomb and cleaned the pan! Will never buy in can again! So easy for weeknight meal!

I love this recipe. I use ground turkey. This is the only way I make Sloppy Joes anymore. Everyone loves it!

I made this using a bit more ground beef (1 1/4 pounds) and some cayenne powder for spiciness. I would make this again.
I liked this recipe. I used about 1 1/4 pound of ground beef and added a bit of cayenne powder for some heat.

This recipe is one of my familys favorite, especially when served with the ranch pasta salad and strawberry spritzers. It is the perfect quick summer meal!

The flavor was good, but not as good as I had expected. Our family thought too much of the tomato soup flavor came through. We added a small amount of taco seasoning mix and a little cayenne to "doctor" it up. Next time I will follow one of the suggestions mentioned and maybe add some onions, red pepper and black beans, etc.
