Our daughter welcomed me home from a hospital stay some years ago with this Asian dish and a copy of the recipe. Now that I'm a widow, I freeze leftovers for fast future meals. - Kay Bade, Mitchell, South Dakota

Super easy, inexpensive ingredients and makes a fairly large batch. Very flavorful and my kids just loved it!I I did not drain the vegetables for extra moisture and only used 2 stalks of celery.

Made this for supper tonight. I did cut back on the celery to 3 large stalks. For those wondering why the recipe does not call for water. Does not need added water, enough mositure from the vegetables. Will make again.

I used Bok Choy instead of celery, and used fresh chinese veggies and canned water chestnuts. It was rich and beefy and my family ate all of it. I will make this again, we all loved it!

My husband is not a fan of chinese food, but ate every bit on his plate! Great recipe!

This turned out really very good but I think the submission was missing something. I added 1 cup of water, some broccoli and mushrooms. I think the next time I make it, I will use fresh carrots and bean sprouts since the celery is fresh anyway and I'll use only the canned bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. In addition, although the ground beef was fine, sliced beef would be great.

Very easy to make, excellent for a quick dinner. I did not use a whole bunch of celery as called for I cut that in half and I also added Bead Molasses to the mix.
