Easy Almond Bars Recipe
  • Prep: 10 min. Bake: 20 min. + cooling

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups Master Cookie Mix, softened
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

  • Press cookie mix into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Beat egg white until foamy; brush over dough. Top with almonds. Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over top.
  • Bake at 350° for 18-22 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Cut into diamonds. Cool completely. Yield: 4 dozen.

I added some almond extract to the dough for this one, and instead of egg whites I brushed a thin layer of jam on it, then topped with almond slices. WE loved it with raspberry then tried it again with apricot then strawberry. I liked the raspberry combo the best but they were all very tasty.
