Besides delicious, this is a kid-friendly recipe. I made something very similar to this several times with my grandkids and with my niece and nephew when they were all younger. I let them decide if they wanted the fat-free cool whip separate or mixed in. They used my Pampered Chef crinkle cutter....no plug intended, but now you know for sure what it is....to slice the bananas. Then....and they liked this part!...we put a few reduced-fat vanilla wafers in a sandwich bag and they took turns smacking it with the smooth side of the meat tenderizer hammer to make crumbs to sprinkle on top. We also used strawberries once instead of cherries. Everyone wanted seconds! Thanks for sharing!

I've been making this very recipe for years now! Very very good and easy! I used fat free cool whip instead of normal to reduce the already low fat dessert!!

I found this in a cookbook I bought a few years back and I just made it tonight for my kids. They loved it so I had a bite and it is delicious. I will most definitely be making this in the future. I have also pinned it so my friends will like it as well!
