Double Chocolate Orange Brownies

3/4 cup butter, cubed
4 squares (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate
3 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon orange extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
Confectioners' sugar

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt butter and unsweetened
chocolate. Remove from the heat; cool slightly. In a small mixing
bowl, beat eggs and sugar. Stir in chocolate mixture and extract.
Beat in flour just until combined. Pour into a greased 13-in. x

Double Chocolate Orange Brownies cont.

9-in. x 2-in. baking dish. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake at
350° for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the
center comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into
squares. Just before serving, sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.


Yield: 2 dozen.
