This pie is absolutely delicious! If you’re a beginner, use a store-bought pie crust to get a head start. You’ll still get a bushel of compliments. —Virginia Olson, West Des Moines, Iowa

I made this for a pot luck and everyone raved over it. I'm making two for Thanksgiving this year!

Everyone raved about this pie and all wanted the recipe. So simple and so good. Definitely use a tart apple.

I bought five large Granny Smith apples and they were enough for two pies. My nine-year-old niece, who says she doesn't like apple pie, couldn't get enough of this. She insists we MUST have it for Thanksgiving dinner. The crumb topping is a real treat.

This was my first attempt to make apple pie from scratch. My family LOVED LOVED LOVED this recipe. It will be a staple in our holiday traditions. It replaces a dull regular apple pie and puts it over the top in our household.

I make standard apple pies all the time but I thought i'd try something a little different. This was delicious and my husband and toddler loved it. I used a store bought pie crust because I just won't make one when the store bought ones work wonderfully. I did use apple pie spice along with the cinnamon because I like it that way but otherwise I followed the instructions exactly. I only needed 4 large apples. I will be making this again soon and its going into my "regularly used" recipe book
