I make a big batch of this fun sweet snack throughout the year to keep on hand for hungry kids of all ages. Once you get started eating, it's hard to stop. Plus, it makes a great take-along treat.Wilma Miller, Port Angeles, Washington

My wife is diabetic, so I used the Splenda Light Brown Sugar for baking and salt free butter and pretzels and added Dry Roasted salt free peanuts and Salt Free Roasted Almonds. My Grandkids devoured it and wanted to know when I was making more. If yor allergic to something or don't like an item then just leave it out. But this is Great !!

Thanks for a great recipe Wilma. I like the new twist on an old idea - using the animal and bear shaped crackers. Great for adults and grandkids. To those fault finders - variety is the spice of life! Moderation is they key.

To CarmelN: You could reduce the sodium by using unsalted butter and unsalted mini pretzels.

I agree! To the person complaining about the sugar...did you try the recipe or do you just like to find fault with everything? This is a great snack for kids and adults alike.

This was so good even my picky husband liked it! If I can get him to eat something then I know the rest of the family will most likely like it! For those worried about the sugar and salt, go somewhere else to find recipes! This one is a keeper in my book!!!

WHY WOULD YOU FEED YOUR KIDS ALL THIS PROCESSED CEREALS , PLUS ADDED SUGARS , BUTTER , ETC ???

This is awesome and not just for kids. We adults love it too. Since I just don't like pretzels, I substituted salted peanuts for them. I still get the sweet/salty taste I love. Thanks for the recipe

I am a high school teacher and I made this for my class one day and all of my students LOVED it! They beg for the recipe! My mom used to make this when I was younger and it was a favorite with my siblings and my self.
