  • Shoestring black licorice, cut into 1-1/2 inch pieces

Thank you so much for a wonderful idea, I made a spider web cake for my son's preschool and these spiders were a wonderful way to complete the theme. I too had to use red licorice and I also used skittles for the eyes. Thanks again.

This was such a fun and easy recipe to do with my boys and the kids thought they were pretty cool. And costwise it was a great recipe to make for their school classes.

These were so fun to make - couldn't find the shoestring licorice so cut chocolate licorice into strips. Tedious but effective. Great cookies - rich, chewy, chocolately.

I made these for a birthday treat for my preschool-age son and they were a BIG hit! I couldn't find black licorice strings, so I used red and they were still cute. Also, instead of cinnamon-hot eyes, I used mini red m&m's as I thought that would be more kid-friendly. My son still talks about them!
