"I can still taste these wonderful peas in Mama's delicious white sauce. Our food was pretty plain during the week, so I thought this white sauce made the peas 'extra fancy' and fitting for a Sunday meal."

I used the canned peas with pearl onions. The onions were extremely salty, but the peas and cream sauce were excellent. My husband, 11, and 4 yr old all loved it as well. Next time I will either saute a diced onion in the butter or use fresh frozen pearl onions. Will most definitely make this again.

My husband & I both work late. Since I have time in the morning and he gets home before I do, I try to put together a casserole that he can throw in the oven. To compliment the casserole, I throw together a quick & easy side dish when I get home. Yesterday I made tuna casserole and decided that peas would be good to go with it. I did not want just peas, so I looked up this recipe. It was quick and delicious and big hit with my husband. It will go into my recipe file now and will find its way out many times.

We were snowbound on Christmas Day so couldn't make it to the family gathering, and I had to come up with a menu for dinner for my husband, my daughter and me on the fly. I went with this recipe because I had all of the ingredients on hand and wouldn't need to make any substitutions. Funny how I didn't realize until today that my husband loves creamed peas! Anyway, it's a good basic recipe. I want to try it over salmon patties someday.

I made this recipe of a church dinner and it was great. I used the steamable package of frozen peas and mushrooms and i sliced two boiled eggs into the pea mixture and heated well. Great recipe.
