This is a great recipe instead of making individual ones. Tastes just like a cream puff. So easy make !!! Delicious !!!

i have made this recipe & shared it with many friends. My recipe calls for putting a drizzle of magic shell chocolate topping on top . Enjoy

This was good but the crust got soggy. Next time I will not put the filling in until I get ready to serve it.

Taste just like a cream puff from the store and was super easy to make. Everyone loved it and wanted the recipe.

This dessert always gets rave reviews! It is light and delicious! Great in the summer!

I've made this twice now & it is a HUGE hit with all who tasted it. It's so much easier than making individual cream puffs. I did melt a bag of chocolate chips (with a little half & half) & put that as the 1st layer on the pastry. For me, a cream puff needs chocolate! :)

Big hit at Labor Day Picnic, one family member wanted me to make another one right then, he would buy the ingrients.

Absolutely loved it, have also tried it using different flavors of pudding mixes & all are good

My husband said this was "good for not having chocolate in it". It was very easy and very good. Next time I will try it with chocolate pudding for my chocoholic husband.

I would make it again but a different flavor of pudding. I am not a huge fan of cream cheese or its taste, I think perhaps regular chocolate or perhaps pineapple or banana, the crust is very elegant, however, my husband ate the whole thing by himself.

Fantastic...the picture made it look like a difficult dessert, it was so easy! taste like it looks "dreamy"

Lori Burns....what kind of flour did you use? That might make a difference?

ONE OF MY FAVORITE DESSERTS.

This was good, but no one was really that crazy about it in my house. I was nervous about the crust not having any sugar, but it was actually fine without it.

I have made this cake many times and everyone raves about how good it is.

This is the third time I've made this recipe and it's always a big hit! This time I tried the Instant Coconut Cream pudding and sprinkled toasted coconut on top! MMMMMMM!!!

I made this for my last party - What a hit! I did not use whipped topping, I added whipped cream on top if desired. A little shaved chocolate really dresses it up.

I could NOT make a ball form out of the dough. What am I doing wrong?? It doesn't seem that 1 cup of flour is enough with 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup butter. I brought it just to a boil added the 1 cup of flour and stirred and stirred and no dough formed. I added more flour ...still no ball...then it seemed to darken up like it was scorched(and smelled scorched). What do I do?

AWESOME! Everyone loves this...I used cook & serve pudding and ended up with too much like one of the previous posts mentions so next time I just won't pour it all in, but I think it made the cream cheese melt better when stirring it into the hot pudding. This is definately a keeper!

I am getting ready to make this for the third time since I got my magazine. It is so easy to make and like eating air. I just love it.

I've been making this dessert for over 30 years, but I have never greased the pan before I add the pastry dough. I also drizzle chocolate syrup over the top before serving.

Reviewed on Sep. 20, 2010 by pabonniegriffin

Very good! Wouldn't need the cream cheese in the filling if trying to cut down the calories.

LOVE this. And so does everyone that has eaten it.

My family loved this dessert! It tasted best after being chilled over night, and still tasted good when they ate the last piece 3 days later!

OMG, I have made this twice now. My Dad went bonkers over it. I made it again for a family reunion. This will stay in my go-to file, it is sooo good. (I varied the puddings, used 1 cheesecake, 1 white chocolate and 1 vanilla, scrumptious!

Reviewed on Aug. 25, 2010 by Hannahjoy88

Took this to my g-ma's fish fry, and everyone loved it!!! I'm looking forward to trying it with different types of puddings now.

I used to make cream puffs all the time. That is how my husband and i got together because i would take them to work!! This recipe is super. It is not quite as messy as making the cream puffs. My husband and 2 teenage sons just loved it. They are wanting me to make another one soon!! You could use chocolate and pistachio pudding also!

I followed this recipe to the T. My crust turned out fantastic but my filling was bad. It never firmed up. I mixed and mixed and it never got smooth. I knew when I poured it over the crust that it wasnt right but I still kept going. It was hours and it still never firmed. Next time I will make the pudding as directed on package and beat in cream cheese. Just really disappointed.

Reviewed on Aug. 12, 2010 by Jeanne Kerens

I took this to a dinner last night and had many compliments. One problem was the amount of milk - I added another cup to make the pudding mixture spreadable. It was just too thick.

Reviewed on Aug. 04, 2010 by aljoe

dough got rubbery, filling was way to thick, had to put in globs.

Reviewed on Aug. 03, 2010 by katiet1982

Awesome recipe...tastes just like a cream puff!!! I had a bit too much pudding, it kind of spilled over the top of the crust, so I'd prob just not pour it all in, but i did accidentally buy the cook and serve instead of instant and made it according to the pie instructions on the box of pudding and it came out great! Super yummy & easy! I'll be making it again!

For wandel: I did spread the dough out flat, I did not spread up the sides, it puffs up like the picture when it bakes and the middle flattens down when it cools. When i mixed the egg into the dough, i started out with a spoon (wasn't going so well) so I switched to a whisk and beat it in with that, but it does get pretty sticky, thick, & gooey.

Reviewed on Jul. 29, 2010 by Michelle Christophersen

Something simple, different and wonderful. It was a big hit.

Reviewed on Jul. 28, 2010 by wandel

When you transfer dough to a greased pan, what do you do with it? Do you spread it on the bottom or up the sides also? When you continue beating after each addition are you using a spoon or a mixer?

Reviewed on Jul. 20, 2010 by jenjenannie

Delicious!!! I will be definitely be making it again! Instead of putting the whipped topping on top, I folded it in to the pudding which I think gave it a more "true" cream puff filling taste & texture.

this was so easy and delicious. My family loved this recipe. I lightened it up with sugar free jello, skim milk and light cream cheese and it was still amazing.
