"I came up with this soup after I had tried something similar at a restaurant," explains Stacy Bockelman, California, Missouri. "Using chicken bouillon and frozen hash browns makes it easy to fix. It's good with sourdough bread," she adds. It's also good for your pocketbook at only 47 cents a bowl.

I made this soup for a "Soup Cook-off" at church and I won first place. I have have everyone ask for the recipe. I love it!!!

Makes a good basic potato soup. I left out the ham but added some kale instead. I also halved the recipe, and it still worked out well.

My daughter was home sick from school and asked for some creamy soup which had hash browns and onions in it. I didn't want to go to the grocery store so I started searching for recipes which included the ingredients I had on hand. I found this recipe but didn't want to thaw out a ham steak to make it. So I substituted some leftover rotisserie chicken for the ham. I also used light cream cheese. It was delicious and my daughter loved it!! I'll definitely make it again.

My entire family loves this, even my son who doesn't really care for potatoes. Great with a crusty bread. I like to leave out the ham & adorn with bacon & chives. Wonderful!

This soup is very good. I think I will try it next time with bacon instead of ham and maybe add a few more potatoes. You will LOVE it!

This has been a family favorite ever since it came out in the magazine a few years ago! We make a big pot every Christmas. Excellent soup and easy to make!

This is a Super Easy and Super Yummy soup! I used Neufchatel (lite cream cheese) and thickened it a bit with instant mashed potatoes. Served in bread bowls for an all-in-one meal! My 14-year old LOVED it!
