I tried Cajoun Cabbage Soup at a diner in northern Michigan over the summer. I used this recipe as a base to try and make it at home. We added diced carrot, chunks of browned smoked sausage with minced garlic and Creole seasoning - delicious!!!

I have made this for a small group a couple of times and received rave reviews from almost all who ate it... Comfort food which brought back many memories from childhood. With rice added it reminds me of my mother's "Lazy Man's Cabbage Rolls"... soupified!

I have made this soup many times and everyone has raved about it. When I bring it to gatherings everyone compliments me and some want to take some home. The only thing I add is some vegetable broth for a little extra liquid.

My mother and I truly enjoyed this recipe and made it again within 2 days. I used only 1 lb of ground turkey instead. Ummm soooo good.

Really liked this recipe...I did add fresh garlic...added 2 small finely chopped cloves to the beef as it was browning. Also added lots of fresh ground pepper and a little salt. A real comfort soup on a chilly night down here in the south!!

This is a hearty healthy soup. Definitely needs salt and a bunch of pepper, but not bland at all to me. I love savory and full flavor, this soup has both. (I only had 3 (14.5 oz cans of stewed tomatoes so I used 1 (14.5oz can of diced tomatoes) Loved it.

A little bland so I put in some dried mixed veg's, beef broth, taragon, garlic, lemon pepper seasoning, majorium and some rosemary and it was wonderfull. Use just a dash of seasonings at first then let it set some and taste, if you feel you would like some more taste put in some more. I never measure so cannot say how much I put it, but I always start small and add more if I want. Hope this is helpfull to some of you.
