Tiny Cherry Tarts

Ingredients

  • 4 oz. cream cheese
  • softened 1/2 cup frozen whipped topping
  • thawed 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1 can cherry pie filling (you won't use it all) 1 refrigerated pastry

Directions

  • In a small bowl mix the first four ingredients with a hand mixer. Set
  • aside in the refrigerator.
  • Unroll pastry on a lightly floured surface and roll it a little
  • thinner. Use a star cookie cutter to cut as many stars as you can
  • get from the pastry. Gently press pastry stars into mini muffin
  • pans. Bake at 350 about 15 minutes until light brown. Cool on racks.
  • Just before serving, put a teaspoon of cream cheese filling into each
  • star. Top with one cherry from the pie filling. Yield: serves 20
