I have been on a mission to make the most simple and perfect scone. I love them with a cup of tea, or coffee, and my husband loves them as a take along snack for outdoor sports, car trips, etc... I have also made them for my best friends wedding, and everyone loved them. Now I have to make them when I visit my Parents, and others who have had them. I don't mind, because they are easy.

Ingredients

2 1/2 Cups all purpose flour.
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
1 Stick, 8 Tablespoons, cold salted butter.
1/3 Cup Granulated Sugar
1/2 Cup Chopped Walnuts ( chopped pretty fine.)
1/2 Cup Simi-sweet Chocolate Chips
1 Cup Whipping Cream
(2 Tablespoons sugar to 2 teaspoons cocoa for topping.)

Directions

Heat Oven to 425 F.
Place flour and baking powder in large mixing bowl; mix well.
Cut butter in pats and add to flour mixture. Cut in with pastry blender, or rub with fingers, until the mixture looks like fine granuals.
Add sugar, nuts, and chips. Mix well.
Add cream all at once, and stir with a fork till it forms a dough.
Half the dough, and form two balls.
Lightly flour counter surface.
place each ball on to surface and flatten with hand to about 4 inches round.
Sprinkle the rounds with sugar cocoa topping to taste.
Cut each round into 8 wedges.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for approx. 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
