I made this recipe for my son Sam's birthday party and it was a huge it with everyone. Some guests said it was the best pulled pork sandwich they had ever had!

Sammy's slow cooked pulled pork BBQ Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 2-1/2lb pork roasts
  • 18oz of BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or your own recipe)
  • 8oz of Dale's Marinade
  • 3/4 cup of melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons of your favorite meat seasoning (I used Steak Dance)
  • 1 cup of Coca Cola

Directions

  • 1. Set the two pork roasts in a glass baking dish.
  • 2. Melt the butter and add the meat seasoning and brown sugar.
  • 3.Combine the melted butter, meat seasoning and brown sugar
  • into a mixing bowl then add the 8oz of Dale's and wisk.
  • 4. Pour this mixture over both pork roasts, cover with foil and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours.
  • 5. Place in the middle of a charcoal grill with coals on both sides of baking dish and slow cook (turning the roasts about every 30 to 40 minutes) for 3 to 3 1/2 hours.
  • 6. Take roasts off the grill and let set for about 30 to 40 minutes or until warm. Now you can pull the roast apart and place in a sealed container and refrigerate over night.
  • 7. Place the pulled pork in a crockpot, add the BBQ sauce, Coke and add another teaspoon of seasoning, mix well, and slow cook for several hours.
  • 8. Serve on toasted buns with your favorite condiments and your guests will love you.
  • 9. Eat and enjoy! Yield: serves 12

    Notes: 

    Cooking times may vary according to the amount of charcoal used. Also to cut some time you may turn the crockpot to high for the first hour and then reduce heat.
