No one will guess these sweet treats with the candy bar center start with store-bought dough. Roll them in colored sugar…or just dip the tops for even faster assembly. Instead of using miniature candy bars, slice regular size Snickers candy bars into 1-inch pieces for the centers. —Taste of Home Test Kitchen

These would have been much better with a chocolate kiss or mini Dove in the middle. The Snicker makes them taste like a regular chunky peanut butter cookie to me. I used a whole tube of sugar cookie dough and 1/2 cup of flour, too much flour, dough way too dry. I had to squeeze dough together by hand to get it to stick. The snickers oozed out of mine, guess I didn't have enough cookie dough wrapped around - Not too bad tasting tho not something I will make again.

These were awesome! From some of the posts here I can see where I started with some similar problems. I used a scratch sugar cookie dough with extra flour. After forming a few balls I baked a test batch and found the dough needed more flour. Once I got the right dough consistency (make notes!) the cookie kept its shape perfectly! I used about a tablespoon of dough for each cookie and after wrapping the candy I rolled it in my hands to make them round. Once I got a system, I was able to bang these out with no problem. Will make these a regular in my Christmas baking!

I liked the simpleness of the cookie but could not figure out how to keep the cookies round like the picture showed.

I followed the recipe exactly but made a double batch since 1/2 a tube of cookie dough did not seem enough. The double recipe barely made 24 cookies. They were wonderful when fresh, but the next day they were as hard as a rock. I had made them for my daughter and her friends and they would not even eat them because they were so hard, I had to throw them away. Would like a version that would work better. I am going to try modify the recipe and see if I can make it work because I really did like these.

My mother-in-law calls these "Sin Cookies" ....they are so good, and the little that did leak out just made them even more ooooey-gooey!

I loved the idea of a candy filled cookie and it looked very easy to make. But I'm very disappointed they flattened out and looked nothing like the picture no matter what I tried. If there is a solution to the flattening out problem, I might try it again. But overall it was a waste of time making these.

I thought these would be great for shipping, but they were a disappointment. I was very careful, even testing oven temp when 1st try didn't turn out well. Cookies cracked, candy oozed. My husband, who loves cookies and snickers, rated this one a "don't bother making these again" failed experiment.
