Cinnamon Granola Bars Recipe

I make these at least once a week for my husband, David. He takes one in his lunch every week and never gets tired of them. I love providing him with something so healthy to snack on that doesn't taste low-fat. —Jessica VanLaningham, Cockeysville, Maryland

So good!!! This is the best granola bar recipe I have ever made. So soft and chewy...yet holds together. I did use 1/2 cup white flour and 1/2 cup whole wheat. I used only 3/4 cup brown sugar. The next time I make these I will reduce the brown sugar a little more. I made 1/2 with raisins and coconut and 1/2 with chocolate chps and coconut. I wish I had doubled the recipe...they were that good!!!

Have made this numerous times, so easy to change it up. I have substituted, choc chips, butterscotch chips, coconut, dried berries, whatever is on hand. My college age son always wants a few batches to take back to school wiht him.

This is 6 weight watchers point for 1 bar - that is too much in my opinion.

Have not yet tried the recipe but wanted to thank Sneakipete for making this recipe MUCH healthier. I will use that persons recipe when I try this.

Very good and easy substitutes made this heart healther and lower in sugar.

Changed out the butter and used 2 T butter and 2 T macadamia nut oil (you could also use olive oil). I also used the Splenda Brown Sugar mix (without packing it) instead of packed brown sugar. 2 egg whites did the trick without the extra cholesterol and calories.

Yum!!

I was excited to find a healthy granola bar recipe, but I agree with jreesor; with 231 calories, 6 grams of fat, and 43 grams of carbs they are not healthy. Maybe delicious, but not healthy. It makes me wonder what the standards are for these recipes to be considered healthy. Disappointed.

Very good unfortunately not so low fat. Changing the butter to a low fat subltitute such as Country Crock sticks will cut the total fat in the fecipe from 28 gram of saturated fat from 28 grams to about 6. I used it in all my holiday baking and noone could tell the difference.

This is a new favorite. I have also used white chocolate chips in it and peanut butter for variations-it turns out great!

These are not "light" anything. They pack an awful lot of calories and carbs. Be careful!
