Is there cake in the centre or is it just pudding?

I get so many compliments on this recipe! I've made it at least 6 times and always have any empty pan to take home!

This recipe doesn't make sense. In step 2 it says "In a small bowl, whisk milk and pudding mixes for 2 minutes (mixture will be thick). Pour over cake." My question is, what cake? According to the recipe up until this point, no cake exists except for the cut ho-ho rolls on the bottom and the sides. In the pcture too it looks like there's a cake in the middle. Is there a step missing?

I was shown this recipe in class one time for a How To speech and recently decided to make it. My favorite thing to do with the leftover chocolate shavings is make a design on top to match the occasion. (Ex: a football for SuperBowl)

Make this a lot. Always a hit. I freeze the swiss rolls first. Easier to slice

Easy and yummy! Fun for kids and adults

The test kitchen notes that the recipe works fine as originally published with 1 box of Swiss cake rolls cut into 8 slices each. However, we did retest the recipe by cutting each roll into 6 slices, and it was easier. We've revised the recipe to suggest 1-1/2 boxes. Thank you for your input and suggestions!

DELICIOUS!!!

I did like everyone else and bought 2 boxes of swiss cake rolls & ended up using them all. For the filling, I mixed the pudding and cool whip together; it makes it nice and thick and helps it sit up alittle better. This dessert also freezes very well. I took this to a family reunion and it disappeared before any other dessert! So pleased :) I will certainly make this again!

What a great dessert! My husband is a big swiss roll lover, so when I saw this I had to make it for his Birthday. He and the kids loved it. I cut each roll into 6 slices and those were very thin. There is no way you could do 8. Fortunately I had a second box of the swiss rolls or I would have run out for the sides. I used about a third of the second box. I was also very surprised how firm it was and how nicely it sliced and served into a beautiful wedge. I thought it might flop apart as it was served but it didn't. Can't wait for seconds tomorrow!

Easy- although I had a bit of trouble slicing rolls without cracking the frosting. Very good- and looks so nice!

Fun and Fabulous Dessert!!! It was very easy! I used almost 2 boxes of Swiss rolls. I cut each roll into 4's instead of 8. Looked and tasted great! Will do again! Will be a huge hit at our church pot lucks!

I have made this on several occasions and there has never been any left over. It has gone over great at many different parties I have attended.

This turned out so well! It was kind of frustrating at first to cut the swiss rolls into slices, and I did need a little more than 1 package of them, but the finished product was amazing! I couldn't believe it turned out just like the picture!

I made this several years ago for a work lunch. Everyone loved it and asked for the recipe!

I made this easy, delicious, and decorative dessert for my dad's birthday, and my relatives raved about it. They thought I had spent hours on it because it looks so pretty. I was amazed at how well it turned out. All the cake rolls stayed in place. Great recipe!
