Chocolate Snowballs Recipe

This is my favorite Christmas cookie recipe. The cookies remind me of the snowballs I'd pack as a child during winters here in Wisconsin. —Dee Derezinski, Waukesha, Wisconsin

Because of nut allergies, I substituted the chopped nuts for Rice Krispies cereal. The cookies were easy to make and disappeared in no time! Had to make a second batch.

for the person who said these were dry and tasteless you probably added too much flour and you baked them too long. Measure your flour correctly and carefully. these cookies are so yummy. I have made them every year at Christmas. I bake over 40 different kinds of cookies each year and these are always on the list. Happy baking and Merry Christmas to everyone.

My daughter and I had fun making these at the last minute on Christmas Eve. They were very easy to make and everyone enjoyed them. They were not overly sweet which was a good thing. Definitely going to make these again.

My wedding ball cookie is similar to this. In order to tell which one is which, I added 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder to the confectioners sugar before dipping. I also waited until they were completely cool. Very tasty indeed.

Tasteless.....dry....disgusting. The squirrels and birds wouldn't even eat them when we threw them outside! Waste of time.

This is a similar recipe to what I grew up calling "Pecan Sandies" (not the Keebler kind). I've substituted walnuts before, but it's not what I grew up on. I will have to try making them w/ chocolate chips in them. Possibly the mini ones

cavuoto -- When a recipe does not state what kind of nut to use, it means 'your choice' - 'your preference' - 'whatever you have on hand'!!

I have always loved Keebler's Danish Wedding Cookies. These are a homemade version of them and like all things homemade, about a hundred times better. Not to worry, Keeblers, I will always be true to you, too. Merry Christmas, everybody!

I made these as part of my Christmas cookies, as I wanted something just a little different than the regular wedding cookie...this cookie doesn't disappoint! Delicious! The recipe mixes up and bakes well. Very easy, yet pretty and yummy. Will absolutely make these again!
