Chocolate Peanut Butter Candy Recipe

Prep: 10 min. + chilling

Yield: 20 Servings

Ingredients

1 pound white candy coating, coarsely chopped
1-1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt candy coating; stir until smooth. Stir in peanut butter; thinly spread onto a waxed paper-lined baking sheet.
In another microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips; stir until smooth. Drizzle over candy coating mixture; cut through mixture with a knife to swirl the chocolate. Chill until firm.
Break into pieces. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Yield: about 2-1/2 pounds.

very simple to make candy, makes a good amount as well so great for gifts or holiday parties.

OMG, these treats are to die for. I mixed the two chocolates together in a double boiler and melted until smooth, then I melted the peanutbutter in the microwave and lightly blended it into the chocolate mixture, leaving swirls of peanutbutter. Next I put about 1 Tbsp. into candy papers and put in the fridge to harden. It was a little extra work, but very pretty on a tray. I took them to work and everyone wanted the recipe. Thanks for sharing TOH!.

I have made something very similar, and it is delicious! If you can't find the candy discs or Almond Bark, I have also made it with white chocolate chips.

White candy coating (it comes in chocolate, too) is also called Almond Bark -- check your local WalMart & most grocery stores. Just look on the baking aisle.

I believe that White candy coating is the disks (an easy to find brand is Wilton) that are sold in bags that you can find in the cake decorating section of craft stores. These disks are available in many different colors and flavors.
