Is there a kid alive (or a kid at heart) who wouldn’t gobble up this creamy dip for graham crackers? It beats dunking them in milk, hands down! You can also try it with apple wedges. Heather Koenig - Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin

This came out really good and everyone loved it. I thought it tasted better after it was chilled overnight. It reminded me a lot of cheesecake filling.

I made this for a Super Bowl party, and it was an enormous hit with the whole crowd. Very yummy.Anyone have any ideas how to make this a bit thicker? I followed the recipe to the letter but I thought it was a bit "runnier" than pictured.

This is wonderful with animal crackers, all I had on hand! It's so creamy with wonderful little bites of chocolate. While too high in fat for a frequent snack, it's wonderful for an occasional treat or gathering.

My kids loved it. Of course I didn't let them eat the entire bowl I made. I gave them apples, graham crackers and pretzels to see what they preferred but it all seemed to be equal. I on the other hand didn't love it. I'm just not a fan of cream cheese no matter what you add to it. I did however continue to eat a serving. I never said I hated it...just wouldn't make it for me alone.

I made this dip up and took it to work to share. The calorie, fat and sugar content is fine in MODERATION people. We do have the ability to control what goes in our mouths. We are not mindless eating machines. If you are soooo concerned about the fat and sugar DO NOT MAKE IT. Move on to another recipe. By the way all my staff thought it was wonderful and even suggested it as a filling between nilla wafer cookies.

I, too, have been making this for years. On the suggestion from a friend, I rolled it into small balls, rolled them in toasted and chopped pecans and then dipped them melted chocolate with a small piece of butter melted into it. THEY WERE WONDERFUL! Just make sure to roll this into small balls, as this stuff is very rich. Thanks for bringing an old favorite to everyone to share :)

To all the people out there who thinks this recipe is just too fattening or bad for you. I'm a real health nut and am on weight watchers and I just had a copy of this made. If I can't have something that's not so good for me once in awhile then I feel sorry for you people that are criticizing this recipe. All in moderation I say and yes you can make it with alot less sugar and fat. I'm taking it to a party on saturday and I WILL have some and i'm sure everyone will love it. I just can't wait to try it. Sounds so yummy

I've had this before and it is yummy with any kind of graham crackers or Nilla Wafers. For those who have issues with the fat and sugar content this recipe can be lightened up by using reduced or non-fat cream cheese, light butter (Land O' Lakes makes some), reducing the powdered sugar to 1/2 cup and using Splenda Brown Sugar Blend. These substitutions work well for individuals with diabetes, pre-diabetes and for those in general who are looking to lose weight.

Poor PaulaKY. I know you're feeling attacked, but it's because this is a forum for people to say whether they think the recipe's directions were easy to understand or how it tasted, with suggestions for changes. Your first comment recommended not making this recipe due to its high sugar and fat content, so why did YOU? Anyway, let's all move on. I add even MORE fat and sugar by dipping the chilled balls in melted chocolate (and calling them truffles)!!!

PaulaKY: The comment I left yesterday was a bit snippy and I could have easily closed the window myself. I look for recipes often and the comments some have left has turned 'nutrition police' into a pet peeve of mine.I usually enjoy reading suggestions on how to lower calories/fat, seasonings and variations or cooking/baking times. There have been days where it seemed every recipe had someone commenting on how fattening it is,unhealthy, too much sodium, right down to complaining how bad splenda is for you and why people should boycott it. It may be unhealthy but I have no problem using it.There are worse things you can eat. Yesterday I had read about 10 recipes, all of them had comments but not one was someone who tried it.They were all criticism of nutrition or ingredients.I dont mind some suggestions but I read this one right after reading a review on a recipe that was obviously a splurge type recipe, "anyone who make this for their family probably has fat kids, no teeth and consider mcdonalds a gourmet meal"

I would just like to say - MODERATION is the key! I printed out this recipe, I will try it, I can already tell based on ingredients that it will be a hit when I bring it somewhere! Reviewing a recipe means that you say whether OR not you like it and if you made any modifications/additions/subtractions that you thought bettered the recipe!

This is to die for!!! To PaulaKY...you are right. This is a forum for good and bad reviews. But your review isn't a review. It's a judgement because you didn't make it and your commenting on it and the people who will make and eat this recipe. If it's too unhealthy for YOU and YOU have no intentions of making it, that is fine. But keep your opinions to yourself and write a review when you actually make a recipe, try it and have something to contribute based on what you thought of it. That is why you offended everyone. This goes for all the other people who also use this forum to judge others and the recipes on this site.To die for!

I think this is wonderful! and for those who gasp at calories and fat a little logic says you can use low fat cream cheese, unsalted butter and splenda brown sugar to lessen the impact :) either way its a nice once in a while treat!

My mother-in-law gave me this recipe. It is great! Regular graham crackers work fine if you can't find the graham cracker sticks. Also, Teddy Grahams are really good with it!
Sorry to those I offended by giving my opinion. I thought this forum was for good AND bad reviews. I am NOT a health nut OR the fat police! I just simply stated MY opinion. We should ALL be able to voice our opinions without someone calling us a nut or police. If you enjoy this dip - that's great. All I was saying is that I won't be making it because it's too high in sugar and fat for MY taste.

I haven't actually made this yet but it looks very good. Those of you who have mentioned that it is high in calories and fat you're right, but no one said they were eating it everyday. I'm a Weight Watchers leader and if you don't allow yourself some pleasure once in awhile you'll binge eventually. I could see having this on special occasions! It's all about portion and self control.

Have been making this for as long as I can remember and now my daughters make it as well. Not only is it a 'must' for the holiday gatherings but great for a graduation party, bridal or baby shower as well.We use to be able to buy chocolate graham cracker sticks, but haven't found them in a couple years so we just use the standard cracker and split them up.

oops...sorry for the typo.I guess it would make life twice as good.
I haven't tried this yet but I'm going to make it for our Christmas Eve gathering. Many nutritionists advocate the 80/20 rule: 80% of the time eat very carefully but allow room for treats. Making a batch of this and scarfing it down alone in front of the TV on a regular basis would be deadly; serving this a few times a year as a shared treat would make life life worth living! :)

I will never understand why people complain about nutrition of the recipes. If you dont like the numbers, or you dont like the ingredients no comment is necessary..simply close the window and click on the healthy link on the top of the screen. If the ingredients or numbers offend you would think that you either would immediately close the window or not look at all!

I've made this recipe for years for Christmas. I usually make three of them. Two for home and one for a friend and his family. It's a wonderful holiday creation but I'd not make it on a regular basis. It will also form into a ball, roll it in nuts and chill to create a chocolate chip cheese ball

I would NOT recommend this for kids OR adults. It's VERY high in fat and sugar....and it does NOT include whatever extra calories, sugar etc that comes from the item you are dipping with!!! It's extra pounds waiting to happen.

Would make it again for the younger set, but will stick with my adult version with lower calories: Non-fat frozen whipped topping (i.e. Cool Whip), shaved dark chocolate and brown sugar or artificial sweetner to taste if desired. Makes a hip-friendly yummy for a snack. What you dip into it is your choice!

I have made this many times! Can not find graham sticks? Mini Nilla Wafers work great, animal crackers are yummy, chocolate or vanilla one. Teddy grahams any flavor are a hit. I have also served this with the new cinnamon ritz crackers. If you serve with crackers, put a knife or spreader in the dip, otherwise the crackers break.
