Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake Recipe

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake Recipe Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake Recipe photo by Taste of Home Rating 5

I created this recipe to combine two of my all-time favorites, cheesecake for the grown-up in me and chocolate chip cookie dough for the little girl in me. Sour cream offsets the sweetness and adds a nice tang. Everyone who tries this scrumptious treat loves it. --Julie Craig, Kewaskum, Wisconsin

  • Yield: 12-14 Servings
25 45 70

Ingredients

  • 1-3/4 cups crushed chocolate chip cookies or chocolate wafer crumbs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • FILLING:
  • 3 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • COOKIE DOUGH:
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 cups miniature semisweet chocolate chips, divided

Directions

  • In a small bowl, combine cookie crumbs and sugar; stir in butter. Press onto the bottom and 1 in up the sides of a greased 9-in. pan. Place pan on a baking sheet; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Beat in sour cream and vanilla. Add eggs; beat on low speed just until combined. Pour over crust; set aside.
  • In another bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add water and vanilla. Gradually add flour and mix well. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips.
  • Drop dough by teaspoonfuls over filling, gently pushing dough below surface (dough should be completely covered by filling). Place pan on a baking sheet.
  • Bake at 350° for 45-55 minutes or until center is almost set. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Carefully run a knife around edge of pan to loosen; cool 1 hour longer. Refrigerate overnight.
  • Remove sides of pan. Sprinkle with remaining chips. Refrigerate leftovers. Yield: 12-14 servings.

Everyone loved this cheesecake. It was delicious and pretty to look at. My only problem with it was the cookie dough basically melted in the cheesecake. It didn't stay chunky like I was expecting.

Ok, i did something terribly wrong,, everyone seems to get it perfect n pretty but mine looks like gunk....

It was all good until the baking stage and now?? In the oven it formed a hard cake/pie like cover over the top. I pulled it off, and the runny mixture was on the bottom, same as before the oven,,,,, i put it back in the oven for a while, but the mixture didnt harden at all or change, ,,,, so im not sure what to do with the oven bit,,, definatly not hard enough to get out of the pan..... LOST - help plz

Best ever. Made for the first time for a cookout last summer and have been making it ever since!

This turned out great. There was a lot of the mixture but it just fit into the pan. Everyone loved it, especially myself. I love anything with chocolate chips. I added more chocolate chip cookies for the crust because I did not have enough.

This is my go-to cheesecake recipe. It's the perfect cheesecake - not too sweet so I feel like I can have a decent-sized piece to eat without it being too rich or sugary. I use chocolate graham crackers for the crust. Everyone who has tried this recipe loves it and many have asked for the recipe to make for their families! It's one of our absolute favorite desserts!

A chocolate lover's dream. I donated one of these to my son's Cub Scout pack for a dessert auction and it sold for $75

I'll be honest...I'm a young college student and never baked anything besides premade cookie dough and decided I wanted to make cheesecake for Christmas and found this recipe. The cheesecake was phenomenal and the instructions were very easy to follow! The whole family LOVED this cheesecake! Definetly making this again!

This has quickly become an all time family favorite. A little time consuming to make, but worth the extra effort.

MMMMM! Maybe one of my biggest cooking successes ever! Everyone I served it to loved it, and a couple people asked for the recipe. It was not too time consuming, and everything went perfectly! One thing I did do differently; the top of it looked so bad that instead of just chocolate chips I melted together chocolate, shortening, and milk and poured it over top. It hardened very nicely and looked beautiful!
