TIME: Prep: 5 min. Cook: 7 hours

Ingredients:

  • 3 medium carrots, cut into 3/4-inch pieces
  • 2 celery ribs with leaves, cut into 3/4-inch pieces
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 1 broiler/fryer chicken (3 to 4 pounds), cut up
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

In a 5-qt. slow cooker, place carrots, celery and onions. Top with chicken. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours or until chicken juices run clear and vegetables are tender. Serve with a slotted spoon. Yield: 6 servings.
