Chicken Shrimp Creole Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 1 green bell peppers, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup chopped green onion
  • 1 can (16 ounces) unsalted diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt, to taste, optional
  • 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoons hot red pepper flakes
  • 1-1/2 lb raw medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

Directions

  • Wash and dry chicken breast. Cut into 1/2-inch cubes.
  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium. Add chicken. Cook 3-5 minutes.
  • Add green pepper and onion. Cook until tender.
  • Stir in tomatoes, salt, garlic powder, chili powder, and red pepper flakes.
  • Bring to boil, reduce heat, and then simmer for 20 to 30 minutes,uncovered until mixture thickens.
  • Add shrimp and return to boil.
  • Reduce heat. Cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, until the shrimp turns pink. Serve.
