Here's an all-time favorite Italian dish made easy in the slow cooker! Dried herbs and fresh garlic give it an aromatic flavor. Green peppers, sliced mushrooms and diced tomatoes do a fine job of rounding out the juicy chicken entree. —Denise Hollebeke, Penhold, Alberta

I made this yesterday for dinner. It was really simple, and I did make some alterations. I used chicken breasts instead of bone in chicken and I didn't have diced tomatoes, so I cut up canned whole tomatoes. I did double the spices as per other review suggestions, but used garlic powder instead of garlic cloves. Boiled some linguine and took the chicken out and stirred the noodles into the sauce. It was tasty, but it's definitely lacking something. Not entirely sure what tho. I will make it again to play with it some. Wish I had tomato sauce or paste to add to it, will try that next time and probably increase the spices, or actually get fresh garlic heh.

I am not a very good cook but this recipe looked easy. It turned out great! I used fresh tomatoes (about 8) from my garden and chicken breasts. Only problem was that there weren't enough left-overs. I'll have to make it again - soon. Thanks.

This is a tasty dish. I used stewed tomatoes, added fresh celery and extra garlic, only cause you can never have enough garlic IMHO.

I made this for dinner today and it was a hit with the whole family! I took the advice from the other comments and added more seasonings, I used 1 tsp of oregano, 1 tsp of basil, I also used diced tomatoes with green chillies and added 1 15oz can of tomato sauce. I cut up the chicken the night before and browned them up, also I cut up the veggies too, so it was ready to go in the crockpot, all I had to do was toss in and go. Bonus I have extra sauce left over that I can make in to a stew.

My family LOVED this recipe!!!! I "tripled" the sauce though and added even a little more of the seasoning. My family LOVES the sauce!!! GREAT recipe!!!!

Not bad - actually pretty yummy. But I would definitely add more spices! I already used a heaping 1/2 tsp oregano and heaping 1/4 tsp basil - but I would probably double both of those or maybe add something like Italian seasoning...something! Just needed something a little more. I considered another can of tomatoes too, but my boyfriend nixed that idea :P Overall, good though!

It was a good dish but needs more seasoning then it calls for.
