After reading the reviews on these cookies (and many thanks for the tips!) I decided to make these. I altered the recipe to 2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1Tbsp Milk instead of water, then put the batter in the fridge to cool down. I took a big heaping tsp and rolled in a balls. Baked for 8 mins. I really have to say these are the best Brownie Cookies I have ever made!! These have become a big hit in my home! Thanks again for the recipe and all the reviews!!

I have made these cookies many times before & they are delicious. The only thing I add is a cup of shredded coconut & dash of cinnamon. This recipe is great, keep their shape & don't flatten out. Our families favorite.

These cookies are amazing! So soft and chewy. The only thing I did differently is use unsalted butter instead of shortening.

this was very good, but only made after reading all the ratings...this helps me decide if it is worth my time and effort..did add extra flour and use the butter crisco and a small scoop..added cranberries and my family loves them in cookies, muffins

With modifications, this recipe is one of the best chewy brownie cookie recipes I've tried. I doubled the recipe because of my large family and they freeze fantastically. Then adding additional flour, soda and salt so the consistency is workable, plus using an ice cream scoop made them stand up nicely. Will definitely make this again with my modifications.

Brought these to a BBQ and they disappeared in 60 seconds! I tweeked the ingredients just a bit - one third shortening and one third unsalted butter, cut back on sugar to 1 cup, added 1/4 cup of dried cranberries and 3 Tblsp. of toasted Sesame Seeds. Fabulous !!!

Used butter flavored shortening, added another half cup flour and a pinch more soda. Nice cookie but hate to give 5 stars with so much modifications.

These cookies turned out flat. The cookies tasted good but not worth the effort to make them and was a waste of time.

They are really good cookies really really good! Real easy to make, and make sure that you use the right amount of flour or else they do not turn out. I messed up and the baked flat! I most definitively make again!

I made 18 dozen of these cookies to give away at Christmas and they are easy and delicious. Highly recommend these. The texture is great and they are plump, not flat cookies. Super recipe and a definite keeper.
