I like to make these old-fashioned treats with raspberry chips, but cherry-flavored work well in a pinch to add color and sweetness. These cookies stack nicely for packing. —Betty Huddleston, Liberty, Indiana

Oh my gosh, these are the best. I am a cookie-holic and these went to the top of my list. I doubled the amount of pecans (only had those on hand.) My family loves them in cookies. Did not change another thing and they were awesome. Hubbly loved them as well. Yes, will be making again often.

I forgot to rate these the first time.

I made these cookies today. Easy and tasty. I can't wait for the kids and grandkids to try them when they come over for Sunday dinner!! I think the girls will enjoy the red chips. They look so pretty and different. I will be making these again.

These are so good but I made them before reading the reviews and used dried cherry infused cranberries thinking that is what they meant by cherry chips.. but no matter, they came out great.. next time I'll try to find the cherry chips.. very moist cookies

Haven't made them (yet) but a suggestion for those of you looking for cherry or even cinnamon chips, I found both on e-bay. Yes you pay shipping (usually not as much as Amazon) but it is an option. I ordered cinnamon chips and can't wait to for them to arrive so that I can try this recipe.

WALMART & SAFEWAY CARRY CINNAMON CHIPS ALL YEAR. I PICK UP CHERRY CHIPS WHENEVER I FIND THEM - WALMART I THINK. I USE TO ORDER CINNAMON CHIP FROM AMAZON, UNTIL LAST YEAR WHEN I COULD GET LOCALLY.

You can make almost any flavored chip by just adding flavoring to chips in a sealed baggie, shake a few times each day so the flavor is evenly distributed throughout the chips and you have flavored chips. This is especially great with a drop of two of mint flavoring when mint chocolate chips are needed and not available in the stores.

I finally found cherry chips by going online at Amazon.com but at $11.00+ for 11 ounces, I found it impractical so used dried cherries instead and worked just fine.

I haven't made these yet, but I've been able to find the cherry chips at my local grocery store here in Kansas at any time, but they're especially prevalent during the Christmas season.

I make these with Hershey cinnamon chips, the only place I can find them is Meijer, but they are very good. Also if you are ever in an Amish store, they usually carry all flavors of baking chips.

Hello, TOH? Comments for almost the past THREE YEARS are not about how good these cookies taste, but about where to find one of the ingredients. Unless someone at TOH can shed some light on this, why is this recipe even posted? Just sayin'.

Where do you get Cherry and Raspberry chips...never heard of cherry chips....have heard of dried cherries? You used to be able to get raspberry chips but they were chocolate with raspberry flavor...I forget who made them. thanks.

Just made these using dried cranberries instead of the cherry chips, as that's what I had in my cupboard, and they are absolutely delicious! Also, I didn't know if it mattered, but I used quick cooking oats and they worked just fine.

why not just try dried cherries instead of chips?

I also tried to find them at the store but I didn't see them. During the holidays when I was shopping I saw cherry baking bits and other specialty chips.

I have looked for raspberry or cherry chips. Where can you buy them?
