Cherry Chocolate Nut Cookies Recipe

Prep: 30 min. Bake: 10 min./batch

Yield: 60 Servings

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup 2% milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup chopped maraschino cherries
3/4 cup chopped pecans

Directions

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, milk and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in the remaining ingredients.
Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool. Yield: 5 dozen.

I greased the pan, and now I have FLAT cookies, I'll try not greasing it next time.

I forgot the chocolate chips in the first batch I baked. We thought they were very good without the chips. We put the chips in the next batch and they were good. We have decided we like the ones without best and will make these more often. They have become one of the favorites for each year.

we liked them because we like cherries. otherwise they were pretty much like any other cookie (although all cookies are good cookies...)

I tried these with and without the chocolate chips, both ways are wonderful. Will make these again and again. They were very quick to mix up plus my crew loved them.

The cookies tasted great, but I had a problem with them spreading way too much. I know I didn't overdo the butter, so I'll have to try it again to see if I can keep them from spreading.

This is a keeper! I will definatly add this to my list of baking that l do to give to the people in my life that make me happy and to a few that don't but l love them anyway.
