This is a very old recipe from my grandma. The sweet cherry filling surprises folks trying them for the first time. Pat Habiger, Spearville, Kansas

I was thrilled to find this recipe. My mother made these in the 1960s and I lost her recipe. I am making them for a Christmas Party tomorrow. SO happy!

This is my new favorite cookie! They are so good! I have company coming soon, but I'm not sure the cookies will still be here when they arrive!

This is one of my daughters favorite cookies!! I leave the stems on my cherries when I make these cookies.. they look so darn cute on the cookie tray. I also make a very thin glaze with just the cherry juice & 10x sugar to dip each cookie into, making sure to set them on a wire rack to drip dry or they will get soggy on the bottom. This is one of those cookies that tastes better after it sits a couple of days.. it really is a hit!!!

I forgot to rate this, of course it is a 5!
My Aunt Jeanette made this last year and they were a great hit. She has made them a few times since. I think I will buy her 1 gallon of cherries this year. A great thank you gift, too!

These are just tooo cute! However, the dough kinda flattened around the cherries a little :/ Did that happen for anyone else? PLUS the frosting is easy and tasty! Mmm!

Delicious cookies!! They aren't too sweet but have just enough flavor to make them a GREAT tea cookie or cookie to go with your coffee in the morning. I also love how quick and easy these cookies are to make. I will definitely make these often!

I made this last year for my childrens teachers, but I dipped the tops in dark and white chocolate. They were a huge hit. I'm making them again this year.
