“I knew this recipe was a keeper when my mother-in-law asked for it!” relates Marty Matthews in Clarksville, Tennessee. The hearty soup, chock-full of leftover ham, veggies and cheese, is creamy and comforting. And even though the recipe makes enough to feed a crowd of post-holiday guests, Mary notes, “don’t look for leftovers!”

I have made this many times! Diced ham is great, but I have also used deli sliced ham when I had it on hand....still delicious!

Very good recipe! I used Velveeta instead of cheddar, 1/2 t ground mustard and 1 cup chicken broth (at the end to add a little more liquid). I am dropping this recipe into my online recipe box right now!

It was tasteless and bland. I added chicken and vegetable stock just to give it flavour. I would never make it again.
