“This is hands down the best pecan pie—it’s so good, it’s scary!” writes Dorothy Reinhold of Malibu, California. “I’m making it for Thanksgiving because there will be others around to share it with me. “Here’s the trick: Toss the bag of caramels to your kid or spouse and promise they can eat whatever is left after they unwrap your 36 caramels.”

I'm not a pecan pie eater, but after this recipe came out in the magazine and I showed it to my husband I have had to make it for every holiday since then. My sis in law says it isn't a holiday meal if I don't bring this pie. It is very easy to make and my husband says the toasted almonds is what really sets this pie apart from other pecan pies.

The best pecan pie I've made so far! I loved the caramel filling! This was the first dessert devoured at a recent Thanksgiving dinner!

Hands down best Pecan pie I have ever made. I get requests from family and friends all year long to make it, but Thanksgiving and Christmas are a must. So easy too!

The filling curdeld and was runny.

I made this pie and added choc chips and woodford reserve bourbon. It was great. I will be making this again for New Year's.

And no, I don't pre-bake the shell.

We've made this every Thanksgiving since the recipe was first published! None of us like traditional pecan pie, but the caramel flavor is fantastic and helps cut the sweetness. I've had more requests for this recipe than any other pie - everyone raves about it!

Do you pre-bake the pie shell?

This pie is SO good! I have to make it every Thanksgiving. It just oozes with caramel. I've never been a fan of regular pecan pies, and I've tried other variations of pecan pie that uses chocolate, and this recipe is by far, THE best pecan pie. It's so rich and delicious, and easy!
