When I go to potlucks, family gatherings or on hunting and fishing trips with my husband and son, this cake is one of my favorite desserts to bring. The flavorful cake stays moist as long as it lasts, which isn't long! -Marilyn Paradis, Woodburn, Oregon

Loved this recipe!! I used half the oil it called for and 3/4 c. unsweetened applesauce (to make 1 1/2c. total). Couldn't tell the difference. Everyone loved it and it turned out great! I also baked it in a 9 x 13" pan for 45 min.

I discovered this recipe after having a delicious apple cake dessert at a restaurant. I believe this recipe may be better than the one I paid $7.99 a slice for! I definitely recommend serving it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. My only questions - has anyone ever substituted apple sauce in place of all the oil in this recipe?

Cake was delicious, topping was thin like a sauce, but great served over each slice of cake.

This is a really delicious cake that is easy to make. It is so moist. The frosting compliments it beautifully. Perfect recipe as written, no need to change a thing.

I made this cake tonight. It was just awesome in the taste department. Loved the caramel drizzle. I did have a little trouble with getting it out of the tube pan, but I think it was still a little warm. Will make again! Thanks for the great recipe.

I guess the best way to describe the flavor of this cake is as my neighbor said, "It's off the leash" Pretty much says it all.
