About Macadamia NutsThe macadamia nut tree originated in Queensland, Australia and was brought to Hawaii in 1882. Today, virtually all of the world's macadamias are grown on the Big Island. It takes about 7 years for a macadamia to bear fruit, making the nut an in-demand delicacy. It takes 300 pounds of pressure per square inch to crack the shell of the macadamia, making it one of the hardest of all nuts to crack open. Because of that, macadamia nuts are mostly sold shelled.

Made without extra nuts. Toll House cookie dough comes in 24 and will make 48 cookies. Still need to cut in half. 11 minutes was perfect.

I made these for a dessert at Christmas...they were inhaled. Good thing I took extra copies of the recipe with me! Delicious. I made some with the macadamia nuts sprinkled in the pan and some without...both were gone quicky!

I would make this recipe with the following modifications. (My husband HATED it.) Cook the dough around 15-17 minutes and NOT use the macadamia nuts.
