Candy Apple Pie Recipe

Candy Apple Pie RecipePhoto by: Taste of Home Candy Apple Pie Recipe Rating 5

This is the only apple pie my husband will eat, but that's all right since he makes it as often as I do. Like a combination of apple and pecan pie, it's a sweet treat that usually tops off our holiday meals from New Year's all the way through to Christmas! -Cindy Kleweno, Burlington, Colorado

Although this isn't the exact recipe I have and made, it's the closest one. The recipe that I have from Taste of Home calls for 1/2 tsp cinn. or nutmeg. Under topping it calls for 1/4 cup butter/margarine, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 T heavy cream, and 1/2 cup chopped pecans. I've had this recipe card for probably 17 years and this is the first time I've made this pie. It was excellent and my kids loved it as much as the apple pie that I make every Thanksgiving and Christmas.

This pie is delicious! I took it to a family reunion and three people asked me for the recipe. I made it again for a family dinner and everyone enjoyed it. The caramel topping makes it.

Made this pie for work and everyone loved it. Many said it was the best apple pie they had ever eaten. Very easy to make.

My family really enjoys this pie. The carmel topping really sets the crust off. I prefer the lemon juice in the recipe vs the lime juice. My grandmother always used McIntosh Apples & lemon juice. Very Good Recipe - try it out you won't be disappointed.

I made this pie for Thanksgiving. My family loved it. My sister even wants it instead of cake for her birthday. I will certainly make it again.

I have been using this recipe for years now. Quite literally the favorite part of our Thanksgivings. With or without the pecans, you can't go wrong.
