Convenient cake mix hurries along the preparation of these tasty bars from Kimberly Biel. "I bring these quick-and-easy treats to church meetings, potlucks and housewarming parties. I often make a double batch so we can enjoy some at home," writes the Java, South Dakota cook.

I have been making these since the recipe was first published! Someone always asks for the recipe! If you want them even more chocolatey and rich, use a chocolate cake mix! YUMMY

I make these every year for the holidays..always a hit but very, very rich. Because of this I make sure to cut the bars very small in size.

Thought I'd save some by putting them in the freezer, but they taste good frozen, too!

Can vary cake flavor and chip flavor, like choc cake mix and peanut butter chips; or yellow or spice cake with butterscotch chips.... Can add coconut, or nuts anywhere here !! % min to make, 20 to bake !!! Easy and FANTASTIC !!!!!

I found these in a Taste of Home cookbook I received for my wedding and have made them several times. Each time I've made them, they were a hit! So good and moist - and easy to make! Definitely will make them many more times and would like to try to reverse the recipe like another reviewer mentioned - sounds interesting!
