Whenever we get together as a family for major holidays, my kids, nieces and nephews literally beg me to make this dish again. It goes together in minutes with canned sweet potatoes, which is ideal for the busy holiday season. —Sue Miller, Mars, Pennsylvania

Fabulous dish! i actually used fresh sweet potatoes because i had them to use up. i microwaved them and mashed them as directed with a little chicken broth for moisture, worked great. i used not quite 1/2 the sugar for either amount and it was great! my son who doesn't eat casserole ate 2 servings:0) love it.

I made this dish for the 2nd time and with 1/2 the sugar. It was much, much better! My husband said he wants me to make this dish throughout the year (not just for the holidays)!

Oh My! I used granola instead of butter crackers for the topping and that made it even better than it already is!!!!

So yummy! They were very sweet, so next time I will add a little less sugar just as other people reviewing this recipe stated. They were so good though!

My family insists we have this sweet potato recipe for every holiday meal. I usually need to triple it so there is enough for leftovers. We love the flavor and crunch the topping adds to the sweet potatoes. Sometimes I use baked, fresh sweet potatoes in place of the canned ones.

Oh, to add... I also added 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg to the sweet potato mixture.
