It's a good thing that this recipe isn't a lot of fuss— the soft tempting taffy goes so fast I sometimes don't even get to wrap the pieces!

the flavor of this taffy and the simplicity is amazing. but i found the texture to be a little bit like gum, maybe because i was looking for something like salt water taffy. so next time i make it and there will be a next time, i think i will increase the amount of butterscotch chips. i think that may solve my problem. I'll have to update my review if it works.

This is a must make at Christmas time. I've been making them for years and my kids love them. Very easy to make, the most time consuming part is wrapping them. If there are any left over after the holidays, I pop them in the freezer and they will last for months. I have requests from my my kid's friends and my son has given them to teachers (bribery I think) and they've asked for more. You have to try them!

The pros of this one: EASY. The cons: doesn't taste anything like taffy - tastes like you mixed marshmallows and butterscotch chips. The consistency isn't like taffy; it's closer to spongey than it is to that rubbery stretchy-ness of taffy, if that makes sense. In general, though, it's fast, easy, and edible. I took it to work and told folks it was taffy, got rather tepid reviews because most people have a certain expectation for taffy. So, I then told folks it was butterscotch candy, and it rec'd better reviews.

I was hoping they'd be like see's candy 's butterscotch kisses! I even wrapped them the same :) they were good, similar, but kinda sticky.
