Blue Cheese Dressing Recipe

Blue Cheese Dressing Recipe Blue Cheese Dressing Recipe photo by Taste of Home Rating 5

I tasted this tangy dressing for the first time at a friend's house. She gave me the recipe, and now I make it every week. I always keep some in my refrigerator. It tastes much better than bottled blue cheese dressing and is a snap to make. -Barbara Nowakowski, North Tonawanda, New York

I do not buy store-bought dressings because they are loaded with sugar and preservatives. I have always loved blue cheese dressing but have had a hard time finding one I really enjoyed that wasn't loaded with all the bad stuff. So I tried this recipe and was very impressed. I substituted a natural non-sugar sweetener for the sugar and it was fantastic. Even my husband, who normally doesn't like blue cheese dressing, thought it was great. I plan to make this one regularly. Yum!

I had some gorgonzola left from another recipe so used it for this excellent dressing! It's very thick, so I ended up thinning it with a little milk, but the flavor is way better than store bought blue cheese, and it's super fast to make.

I had to do a last minute substitution for the sour cream (I used milk) and the cider vinegar (I used white wine vinegar) and it was ok, but a little too sweet for me. I ended up adding a little salt and white pepper to balance out the flavors. I can't wait to try the recipe with the correct ingredients!

This is the BEST blue cheese dressing. I always have it on hand for salads and it's become a favorite dip for french fries.
