We loved this cake. I plan on making it a boston cream pie where you slice it in layers and put the filling between layers and on top.

I used organic cherry juice and the texture of the cake was like fudge. Was disappointed in the taste as well...not much flavor.

I make this cake. I used Wild Cherry Juice from the juice aisle, as it didnt' say what type or kind. Couldn't taste the cherry juice. And the cake doesn't taste like chocolate cake. It needs more cocoa. I used the pudding for the frosting and added cool whip to make it more of a mousse. I drizzled dark chocolate syrup on the top of it also. I thought the cake was dry, not moist like I thought it could be. I think overall it would be a better cake with more chocolate flavoring and more cherry juice flavor.

Yummy! If you look hard enough you will find the juice. Read the directions before making. The milk & pudding are not part of the cake! Otherwise, Awsome!

I made this and it was very good, I cheated and used a choc cake mix, I used the cherry juice instead of the water I used real bottle juice, used the same amount of eggs and used 1/4 c oil and 1/3 cup applesauce.

I too was hesitant about the large amount of cherry juice (I used cherry juice from the juice aisle) but it turned out very well, Tasty and moist. Definitely a lower cal option if you need a chocolate fix!

I haven't made this yet, but it sounds delicious. My question, right now 6 people have rated the recipe. All 1 star. Why is the overall rating right now a 4-star and not a 1-star? Are there more who rated the recipe without adding a comment, and if so, how many rated it?

I would like to make this cake but the liquid ingredients are way out of proportion to the dry ingredients and also what is the cherry blend that is mentioned ???????

I know you can get a cherry juice blend if you look in the juice isle at the grocery store - My question is 2 CUPS of juice that is a lot of liquid along with the other wet ingredients in the cake and it only takes 3 cups of flour?????????????
