This is great. I did customize it some. I used two 14-1/2 ounces cans of light beef broth, 3/4 teaspoon salt substitute instead of soy sauce and added 1-1/2 cups cooked barley. I also left out the molasses. It's hard to find a recipe that can be trimmed of sodium and still be tasty. Maybe next time I'll try adding some pepper and basil also.

Very yummy! My sweetie is a truck driver and likes good 'ol home cooking so he was the real test and I knew I didn't dare tell him prior to him eating it that molasses was in it. He was on the phone with a co-worker while he was eating it and was actually raving to his buddy on how good it was! This recipe is a definate keeper!

This was a good start for soup. I used 2 14oz cans of beef broth though; it just wasn't soupy enough otherwise. I also added a pinch each of dried basil, ground cumin, and ground cayenne and about 1/4 cup of ketchup. I didn't have any molasses, so I left that out. It was marvelous!

I added sweet potato as well, delicious!

This is a winter staple at my house. So quick, easy and delicious. I use ground turkey to reduce calories and it works just as well.

After draining the ground beef, I browned half a roll of beef smoked sausage, cut lengthwise then into bite size half-moon pieces. The sausage gave the soup a sweet yet earthy flavor. It is now a family favorite.

Very good! This was so easy to put together. Next time I may even add more broth or tomato sauce just because we would maybe like it a little more "soupy". Yum!

I did add some salt, some Taco seasoning, and used Tomato Bisque soup as I didn't have any plain tomato sauce to this mix as I thought it was a little bland. My family absolutely LOVED this! My oldest is the pickiest eater and he even drank the broth and told me he loved it! Very good! I love the simplicity and how you can easily adapt this to your tastes or what you have on hand.

This was pretty bland. I doubled the soy sauce and added salt, pepper and a pinch or basil to boost the flavor.

Easy, very tasty and loved by all in my family. We make it often and freeze to have on hand.
