Beef-Stuffed Crescents Recipe

Beef-Stuffed Crescents Recipe Beef-Stuffed Crescents Recipe photo by Taste of Home Rating 4

My neighbor makes these Beef-Stuffed Crescents using jalapenos instead of green chilis and calls them "rattlesnake bites!" I love that this recipe is so easy and has so few ingredients. I've made it for potlucks and family gatherings…and never have any leftovers. —Jennifer Bumgarner, Topeka, Kansas

I made a scaled down version of this and used all ingredients but the cumin. They were excellent. Im eating light these days and only had one, and it was quite filling. But I definitely could have had more, they're that good.

I actually used ground sausage instead of ground beef. It definitely gave them more flavor!

Very tasty, but next time I would cut crescent rolls in half. One was very filling.

I thought these were really bland, and I stupidly bought cheap crescent rolls which I would not recommend. I would add something to spice it up a little more. Maybe garlic?

I love this idea. I took these to a Mexican-themed potluck the other day. I changed the recipe a bit. Rather than using the spices called for, I used taco seasoning and cooked according the package directions. I added low-fat cream cheese after most of the moisture was cooked down. I also had a few sliced black olives in the fridge, so I threw them in, also. I also had enough meat mixture to use 3-1/2 tubes of crescent rolls.

I have not made this recipe. You say spread the filling at the small end, Is that the one opposite the point end?

Reviewed on Nov. 08, 2012 by loveswoodturning

Great recipe! I actually keep the crescent rolls in a rectangle, spread the beef mixture down the middle, and then bring the edges up and seal together. I can usually get by with just 2 packages of crescent rolls and sometimes just 1. I usually put extra chili powder in too!

These were really good and very kid friendly. We love serving these as an appetizer or as part of the main course. Great for football!!!

I have made this multiple times. So good!

These are super quick and easy! I did tweak the recipe a bit though. I used ground turkey and garlic and herb laughing cow cheese and they were great!

These were ok but I had to add a lot more spices for it to be more flavorful

I used the recipe as a jumping-off point and went wild with it. I used taco seasoning in place of the spices, fresh jalapenos instead of canned chiles and added some shredded cheddar and fresh tomatoes. Next time, I think I'll also have a dip on hand, maybe salsa or chipotle ranch dressing.

I rarely follow a recipe, but this time I did, and I was not disappointed! These little bundles were delicious and I made them for a crowd and they got good reviews! Will be making them again :)

Great party recipe! We also added extra jalapeños and a little shredded sharp cheddar...mmmm! Everybody loved 'em!

My kids were raving over these! We had them for dinner with rice and salad, but they would be a good appetizer.

The flavor is so great and the recipe very easy! This is one I would make again! I did change one thing after reading the reviews. I used 2 small cans of Rotel tomatoes with green chilies, mild flavor and drained, instead of just the green chilies. This gave it a great kick! With 2 hungry teenage boys in the house, this recipe is a great one to help keep them full!

My husband and I loved these, and my kids seemed to like them also!! I put some of the mixture in jumbo crescents and the rest in the regular crescents for my kids. We used a salsa queso for dipping, and thought it was a great addition. Because the recipe makes so many, and has so many calories per serving, we thought we would use these for party food next time we make them. Thanks for sharing this recipe!!

My family loves this recipe. One thing I did to add some flavor was to use salsa instead of green chilies. No leftovers.

Following the advice of other comments, I used canned, diced jalapenos instead of green chilies. These came out great! I made them for a Superbowl party, and got lots of compliments.

My family loved this recipe. I had meat mixture left over, so I could have probably used 4 tubes of crescent rolls. DELISH!!!

Reviewed on Jan. 26, 2012 by yummo7

Was bland but if you saute minced onion till golden, some minced garlic just to let out the floavor and minced mushroom sauted, it's wonderful.

Reviewed on Jan. 02, 2012 by skrany

Fantastic, my boys devoured them! This is definitely a keeper recipe! Thanks!

We will make it again, but it was a little bland as is. We'll probably add more green chili and something else to give it a little kick. It was easy and the overall flavor shows a lot of promise. We'll just have to experiment with it and see what happens. Thanks for sharing!

The only I would do different is get the jumbo crescents and put 1/3 cup in each one...I would just like to taste more of the meat mixture!!! But my picky picky daughter who is 8 years old had three of them! Definately will have to become a staple in my house.

All my kids loved this one. Quick and easy and yum. We did dip it in salsa to give it a little bit of a kick. Will for sure be doing this one again.

This is the second time I have made these and they are great! I make a triple batch at a time and use 2 chilis and one jalepeno and it gives it just the right kick!

This was a great recipe! I used jalapenos instead of the green chilies. Brought these to work today and everyone loves them! Very easy to make too.

This was great! I loved the spices in it and The nice creamy inside! I did think about using the jumbo crescents next time because you couldn't get a lot of mixture in each one! But it was still very yummy for being light!

I halved this recipe as it was just my son and I one evening for dinner. I added some onion powder and garlic powder. They were very quick and easy to make and my 2 year old gobbled them up!

These were AWESOME!! I just made them tonight for the first time and substituted with Ground Turkey. I was a little hesitant at first because my daughter in-law didn't think they sounded too appealing. And, I am not sure why there were a couple of bad reviews but all I can say is they are missing out! I too think I may use only 16 crescents next time, only to cut down on the bread portions. Try them, you will love them!

The boys loved it!! Next time I will double the Recipe!

Could you substitute the beef with chicken instead? That would make a little healthier.

this has to be one of the worst recipes i have made in years. the base recipe was horrible and i added alot to it trying to salvage it but it didn't help much.

This recipe was not a big winner at my house, I ended up feeding most of it to the dog, she liked them.
