Thanks to Mollie Fry, barbecue has never been easier. The reader writes to us from Carolina barbecue country, Raleigh, North Carolina, and sends her recipe for Barbecue Ham Sandwiches that has been in her family for over 50 years. “My mother would make a batch of sauce on Saturday, buy the ham, and after church on Sunday, our hungry family would be able to have a fast meal,” she writes.

Quick Homemade CroutonsI hate to waste the heel from a loaf of bread or a few leftover hot dog or hamburger buns. So I cube them into a bowl, spray them with nonstick cooking spray and season with garlic powder, parsley and basil or oregano. Then I bake them on a cookie sheet at 250° until they’re crisp and brown. My family loves the quick homemade croutons. —Nancy C., Windermere, Florida

I've made these several times now for my family. They're really tasty. I just use the whole bottle of chili sauce and don't measure the ingredients exactly....they've always come wonderful! They are a little messy though!

This recipe was so incredibly easy to make, and everyone loved it. Next time I will use a little less brown sugar since it was a touch too sweet for me. But even the kids liked it!
