Barbecue Beef Sandwiches Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hamburger buns

Directions

  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Cook the beef, onion and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add all remaining ingredients except buns. Simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes. Serve on buns. Yield: about 6 servings.
