Balsamic Broiled Asparagus Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions

  • Place asparagus in an ungreased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. In a small bowl, combine the vinegar, oil, salt and pepper. Brush half of the mixture over asparagus.
  • Broil 4 in. from the heat for 8-10 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally. Brush with remaining mixture. Yield: 4 servings.

Very easy, and a nice change up from the usual steamed. However, watch it as it cooks, mine cooked in far less than the posted amount of time. Possibly because it was very fresh. It was a big hit and there were no leftovers! I didn't measure but just sprinkled the oil and balsamic vinegar over and a little salt and pepper, put it in and stirred it once. Quicker than steaming it! Wonderful flavor!
